Where to stay in Florida

The Florida Panhandle is a series of beach towns on barrier islands along the Gulf Coast. Located in the Northwest part of the state it is world renowned for it's white sand beaches and emerald green waters. Starting from the west you'll find Pensacola beach, Navarre, Ft. Walton Beach (aka Okaloosa Island), Destin, Sandestin Resort, the South Walton townships in Santa Rosa Beach called Dune Allen, Blue Mountain, Grayton, Watercolor, Seaside, Seagrove, Sea Crest, Rosemary then on to Panama City Beach.
It sounds confusing doesn't it. Well just remember four main areas: Pensacola Beach, Ft. Waton Beach, Destin, South Walton. I have included a google map here for you to look at. Map
Each area has many choices for hotel or condo rentals. Be sure that your accomodations are really on the beach as public access is limited in some areas. Remember these are quiet little towns most of the year. Most stores and restaurants close about 9pm even in the summer. There are some late night hotspots on the Destin Harbor, Baytowne Warf, and Historic Pensacola. Panama City Beach has a couple of dance clubs. It's a place for quiet and relaxation.
